USHER TINKLER
Chief Winemaker Usher Tinkler was named the Wine Society's 'Rising Star' at the 2008 Hunter Valley Wine Industry Awards and named Young Winemaker of the Year for 2007. He was chosen for the 2007 Len Evans tutorial - an intensive wine assessment course designed to challenge and extend the capacity and knowledge of show circuit judges. In 2008 he participated in the 2008 vintage at Domaine Etienne Sauzet, one of the famed Grand Cru producers of Puligny-Montrachet in Burgundy. His appointment as Chief Winemaker comes after just six vintages and he is now responsible for the making of all three brands in the combined Poole's Rock Wines portfolio. A third generation Hunter winemaker, Usher takes his calling from his grandfather and namesake who established the Tinkler family vineyard in the Hunter Valley in 1943.
